Description

Ecodair is an IT refurbisher with a social vocation based in France. Specialising in the refurbishment of computers, screens and accessories, Ecodair gives a second life to IT equipment while working to promote the integration of disadvantaged people into the world of work: 70% of their employees are people with disabilities or in need of professional integration.

Context

On the one hand, Ecodair promotes the professional inclusion of people with disabilities, in precarious situations or excluded from society. Through a forward-looking profession, refurbishing, Ecodair offers a suitable framework that enables everyone to find or rediscover their place in the professional world.

Ecodair also plays an active part in the circular economy by reducing electronic waste and optimising the resources already extracted through refurbishment. In this way, Ecodair is working towards a more ethical and responsible digital environment, while helping to reduce the digital divide by offering quality equipment at reduced prices.

Technical details & Operations

Ecodair collects, diagnoses and reconditions laptops, desktops, screens and accessories at four production sites in France (Paris and its region region, Marseille, Lyon).

Each device goes through a rigorous process of diagnosis, repair, updating and cleaning before being offered for sale or redistributed to people in need, thanks to public and private partners.

On the social side, Ecodair employs 170 people in one ESAT, two Adapted Companies, one Integration Company and one Integration Workshop. Its social model therefore opts for a broad mix of career paths and profiles.

Ecodair does not have to choose between social impact and environmental impact: the two are linked, at the heart of its DNA.

Deployment & Impact

Ecodair in some figures:

70% of our 170-strong workforce (+50 people in 2 years) are disabled and integrated.

20% business growth by 2023

46,000 items of IT equipment processed by 2023

Ecodair has a major social impact thanks to the employment of people with disabilities or in rehabilitation, offering them an opportunity for professional integration. They also measure their impact by the number of devices processed (46,000 in 2023), the number of jobs created and the tonnes of electronic waste diverted from landfill (240 tonnes in 2023). Their commitment is also reflected in close collaboration with social inclusion players and circular economy partners to maximise their reach and action.
